Rutten is a brand known worldwide by collectors of vintage statues, figurines, and sculptures. Their collectibles feature all-time favorites like Mr. Bean, Garfield, Looney Tunes, Walt Disney, and more.
Shipped in basic brown boxes, with nothing more than the brand name and the name of the sculpture. It’s all about the collectible!

Rutten, the Distributor
Due to the name on the boxes, a common mistake is thinking that Rutten was the manufacturer of these vintage statues. In reality, Deko Design produced the statues, while Rutten distributed them for Deko Design. Peter Mook was the talented artist behind the sculpting of all these pieces.

Deko Design, the Manufacturer
Deko Design was responsible for manufacturing the sculptures. They carried out this work in the Philippines. Below, you can see the factory where the artists worked diligently on these sculptures. It is a very intense process, entirely done by hand, which makes each collectible even more amazing. The dedication and skill of the artisans ensure that every piece is unique and of the highest quality.

Fingendi BV, Taking Over
When Rutten wanted to retire, one of the original managers of Deko Design took over and founded Fingendi. At Fingendi, the larger statues were produced exclusively in the Philippines, while the production of the smaller statues was relocated to China.
During this period, Betty Boop was outselling all other franchises. As a result, they focused on the production of Betty Boop sculptures and stopped producing the others. During this time, they expanded the Betty Boop collection, much to the joy of many collectors worldwide.
In 2010, the era of Rutten to Fingendi came to an end.
CartoonWorldwide.com
For a short time during this period, CartoonWorldwide.com distributed for Fingendi BV and Peter Mook. They chose to end their collaboration and started working with David Kracov on a collection of sculptures featuring Betty Boop, Looney Tunes, and Warner Bros. Due to the limited success of this series at the time, these sculptures are incredibly hard to find today.

Betty Boop, a Make-Over
In the mid-2010s, part of the Betty Boop collection distributed by Rutten and Fingendi received a makeover, primarily changing Betty Boop’s facial expression. This makeover has caused some confusion among collectors, as in pictures, these statues look very similar, and most people do not notice the difference until they receive their latest collectible.
Below, we clearly showcase the differences in the picture. Besides the subtle changes in colors, the most noticeable change is Betty Boop’s face. She now has smaller lips, smaller nose, a subtly different head shape, and other minor alterations. It is clearly visible that it was newly sculpted, but based on the original statues.
On the left is the original Betty Boop grooming statue, sculpted by Peter Mook. On the right is the reproduction Betty Boop grooming statue, sculpted by an unknown artist.

When placing only one of these statues in your collection, you might not notice the difference. However, if you have curated your collection with the greatest care, filled with statues of Betty Boop sculpted by Peter Mook, receiving a Betty Boop statue sculpted by a unknown sculptor could cause real frustration.
At Precious Collectibles, we take the utmost care to ensure that you receive exactly what you are looking for. Therefore, we have clearly indicated on the product pages whether a statue was sculpted by Peter Mook or is a reproduction of his original work.

Where to Buy
When searching for vintage collectibles from the brands CartoonWorldwide.com, Deko Design, Fingendi, and Rutten, it is important to keep a few things in mind. First, quality: most of these sculptures are made from high-quality resin with intense and deep colors. If displayed incorrectly, the colors can fade, which is often not shown or visible in pictures. Additionally, the resin is very fragile, so professional shipping is essential to ensure the collectibles arrive in perfect condition.
It is also worth mentioning that there are fakes on the market. Spotting these fakes from the real deal is something not many people can do due to a lack of knowledge. So be mindful of this when purchasing these vintage sculptures.
At Precious Collectibles, you can find the largest collection of these sculptures in the world. We are constantly expanding our offerings and often receive these collectibles back in stock. Even when an item is sold out, you can use the stock notification on the product page to be alerted the minute it becomes available again. With our extensive knowledge of these sculptures, high-quality authentic images of the exact item for sale, and immense experience in shipping them, Precious Collectibles is the place to buy.
